Stage Fright! One Tool to Tackle it in Seconds
Whether you're giving your first speech or you're a seasoned performer, stage fright can arise at the worst time! Here's a proven tool to tackle it in seconds.
Stage fright, or performance anxiety, often stands directly in the way of us delivering our best under pressure. This video helps explain what's happening to our body and brain in that moment and how we can regain our calm, cool confidence. If you've never engaged in a sensory based presence practice before, this might take some practice before you can rely on it in front of an audience. You might be aware that this approach is similar to ones recommended for people navigating a panic attack. It's all the same circuitry inside us!
Anyone who has a high pressure moment in the spotlight can benefit from practicing this regularly and leveraging it in the moment. Mark, Do you use a butt kicker or Porter and Davies on your throne?
Yes, I use a Porter and Davies throne seat - it is FANTASTIC. I never liked any of the buttkicker style (piston driven) ones.

Great kit Mark! I use all of the same companies (sans the Cymbolt as I don't have a current need) and it's all robust! Always wondered, do you have a say in the type/shape/size of the drum riser or depends on the stage setup and provider? I would think at the very least you could fashion some kind of oak or plywood "subfloor" on top of the riser so you don't loose stuff to the abyss :) Rock on my friend.
